Akhundzadah Abdul Salam Javad, the spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, says that the volume of Afghanistan’s export items through the country’s air corridors in 2023 reached to 247 tons, and items such as saffron, hemp, fresh fruit, dry fruit, clothes, peas, precious and semi-precious stones, accessories of Kitchens, goat and cow skins and also carpets have been the most important export materials of the country.
According to him, India, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Iran, Uzbekistan, Germany and Canada are the countries to which Afghanistan has exported the most.
However, the Chamber of Commerce and Export Investment, although considers the export through air corridors important in the economic growth and development of the country, emphasizes on reducing the cost of transporting goods through this route.
A number of businessmen of the country consider the resumption of commercial flights and the transfer of goods in this way to be useful in increasing the amount of exports through the air corridors of the country and demand more facilities from the government.
Pointing to the resumption of commercial flights, the businessmen ask the government to help the businessmen in the process of transferring business goods abroad by providing subsidies and allowances to increase exports abroad.
The information provided by the Ministry of Industry and Trade shows that in 2023, the value of the country’s export goods amounted to 1.8 billion dollars, a part of which is the export via air corridors.
Afghanistan is a landlocked country, and because of this, traders incur more costs for transporting commercial goods, and people also have to get the goods they need at a higher price.
