The Foundation Stone of a Girls’ School Was Laid in Kahmard District

The construction work of an intermediate school for girls, has officially started in Dasht-e Safid area, Kohmard district of Bamyan province today, Wednesday Aug 7, 2024.

The press office of the Bamyan governor has published a newsletter saying that the foundation stone of this school was laid by Mawlawi Abdullah Sarhadi, the governor of Bamyan and other civil and military officials of the local administration, elders, scholars and influential people of Kohmard district.

According to the newsletter, this project is funded by the Arghosha Charity Foundation with a total budget of 132 thousand US dollars and the school building is supposed to be built in six classrooms and two office rooms, on one floor and in a solid and basic form, and next to the equipment needed by this school, including desks and chairs, water supply system, solar power and the playground of this school should also be provided.

Mawlawi Abdullah Sarhadi, the governor of Bamyan province, said at the dedication ceremony of this school: “We all want the education of the children of this country in accordance with Islamic principles. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan also wants a progressive, independent and free society, and we are also trying to create a learning environment, to provide modern knowledge and technology for the children of this country within the framework of Islamic and cultural values ​​of the country. In this regard, the governor of Bamyan, while appreciating the funding and implementing institutions of this project, asked the students and local people to strive to achieve high scientific and specialized degrees in order to acquire knowledge.

Mr. Sarhadi once again reminded about the absence of ethnic, religious and positional prejudices and that all ethnic groups living in the country have the same rights and position in the caretaker government and emphasized on maintaining unity and solidarity among the people and citizens of the country.

Bamyan is one of the deprived and underdeveloped provinces in Afghanistan, and in the meantime, a large number of schools in this province suffer from the lack of school buildings, basic repair and a suitable environment and educational standard, and thousands of students are learning their lessons in an open and unsuitable environment.
