The 29th anniversary of the martyrdom of the martyr of national unity, Ustad Abdul Ali Mazari is coming while Afghanistan is still involved in a political crisis caused by the power conflict and after decades has not yet felt and experienced political stability and peace.
For two decades, the apparently democratic system with the comprehensive support of the international community and hundreds of billions of dollars in world aid, in the direction of institutionalizing the system and people’s government based on democratic values, faced absolute failure and finally collapsed. The most important reason for the failure and bankruptcy of this government is the lack of humanistic and citizen-oriented ideas in the upper layers of the government. The governments of the past two decades proved well that humane and rational policies that are based on the participation of all and lead to the strengthening and strengthening of national unity, never had a place in the center of the country’s diplomacy and policy-making apparatus, and all the policies of the country were following the ethnic goals and they were chasing a tribal objective and focused on eliminating huge groups of citizens of the country.
The concentration of power and competence in the presidential system ruling Afghanistan has been one of the main factors in formation and implementation of exclusionary and ethnocentric policies of the past governments. As the first person of the country, who also held the position of supreme commander of the armed forces, using his unlimited powers, the president had formed a small team of ethnic elites as the central ring of power, and this small team of other ethnic groups He had withdrawn from all policies and major national decisions and had finally brought the level of national mistrust to its limit.
Undoubtedly, in the current situation, the absence of Mazari and his prudent policies are strongly felt; The policies, stances and ideas that, if realized, could lead Afghanistan to reach a stable, powerful and acceptable system and governance and save this country from the abyss of decline and backwardness.
One of the most important sayings of Shahid Mazari is mentioning the important and vital concept of “national unity” as a basic and fundamental principle in politics. According to the historical experiences he gained from the country’s political situation, he had come to the understanding that the basic solution to the power conflict in the country is the formation of national unity at all levels. Because the lack of unity and solidarity at the national level and the severe and deep ethnic divisions that have arisen among the country’s citizens over the centuries act as a deterrent on the way to national understanding and stability.
Even now, paying attention to his logical and wise thoughts can lead to solving the political crisis in the country. Therefore, focusing on achieving national unity among all the citizens of the country and especially the politicians of different groups can be a way forward.
Despite the fact that Afghanistan is lagging behind the rapid development convoy due to the lack of acceptance and the policy of exclusion and isolation, and a long time is needed to make up for this backwardness, but we can still learn from the past and the failed experiences of the past. Believing that Afghanistan is the land of all the citizens living in the country and only the comprehensive participation of all can lead to the exit from the crisis, opens the way to go to the light and removes the darkness from this land. On the contrary, any insistence on monopoly and neglect of citizens leads to deepening of the crisis and failure in governance.
