Muhammad Khalid Hanafi, the MoPVPE minister in a meeting with representatives of private media, spokesmen of government organizations and prominent social figures, talked about various issues, including the activities of private media, and provided more guidelines.
Meanwhile, Mr. Hanafi, the well-known caretaker of the government, has asked the media to adjust their broadcasts in such a way that the result will be the reform of society and the youth of country, so that the new generation can be educated with “Islamic and Afghan culture”. Mr. Hanafi has also emphasized that media broadcasts should not be in conflict with Islamic Sharia and Afghanistan’s culture.
It is said that recently, the intelligence agency has also asked the media in different provinces to respect the principles of Islamic Sharia in their broadcasts.
After the establishment of the caretaker government, journalists and media workers have been arrested and remanded in many cases and even some journalists have been sentenced to prison.
Organizations supporting journalists have always considered such actions of the acting government as in clear violation of the law of mass media and demanded serious action by the Ministry of Information and Culture of the country to act on the basis of the law of mass media and prevent the interference of other institutions in the work of the media.
