Khorasan Lions and Just One step to the Futsal World Cup

The country’s national futsal team, continuing its dazzling performances, defeated Iraq’s national futsal team with a score of 5-3 and moved one step closer to the 2024 World Cup in Uzbekistan.
The match against Iraq was held in the framework of the play-off stage of the Asian Nations Cup, in which Afghanistan won with the goals of Mehran Gholami (two goals), Akbar Kazemi, Farzad Mahmoudi and Mohammad Javad Safari, to face the winner of Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan in the last match.
The game started in the first half with a good performance by the Afghan players, and finally this half ended with the result 4-2 in favor of our country, but at the beginning of the second half, the Iraqi team, which had changed, took possession of the ball and the field and while scoring a goal and reducing the distance to a minimum, put Afghanistan under severe pressure in order to draw the game to a draw and, if possible, score the winning goal, but they did not reach the goal and finally the competitions is over.
In the last minute of the game, when Iraqi players were trying to put more pressure on Afghanistan and they were on our field with five players, Mohammad Javad Safari, the worthy goalkeeper of Afghanistan, blocked the Iraqi player’s shot and took possession of the ball, scoring the fifth goal with a precise shot. Make our country score 5-3 and bring another victory to Afghanistan.
Tomorrow, the last match of the playoff stage of the Asian Nations Cup between Afghanistan and one of the teams of Vietnam or Kyrgyzstan will be held, so that the task of the last team that advances to the top four teams of the competition will be determined.
