The Department of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs of Bamyan province has distributed more than 60 million Afghanis to orphans, widows and disabled in the first six months of the current year.
Bakhtar News Agency quoted Shah Wali Ahmadi, the head of martyrs and disabled affairs of Bamyan province, as saying that in this process, 21 million and 378 thousand Afghanis were given to 1305 people with disabilities and 36 million and 185 thousand Afghanis were given to 1220 widows and orphans in cash.
Mr. Ahmadi also announced the distribution of food packages and winter clothes for 223 women, orphans and disabled children of Bamyan by national and international institutions.
In addition to the mentioned cases, the Directorate of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs of Bamyan Province has said that during the past six months, more than 150 orphans and children of disabled persons have been introduced to health and vocational training centers and higher education institutions for the purpose of obtaining higher education. This directorate has announced the continuation of this process and the introduction of more people to educational institutions.
Nevertheless, Bamyan Martyrs and Disabled Department plans to establish an educational center for the disabled, build an equipped orphanage and pay monthly allowances for orphans in the second six months of this year.
Establishing the necessary coordination with national and international institutions in order to provide more assistance to widows, orphans, disabled and poor and vulnerable families is another important achievement that the head of Bamyan martyrs and disabled has mentioned.
Bamyan is one of the deprived and underdeveloped provinces in the country, which experiences a high level of poverty, and without a doubt, widows, orphans and disabled children are exposed to serious harm.
