Somayeh Adel won the German Taekwondo Pumseh Championships and received the gold medal.
The National Taekwondo Pumsé Tournament was held in Germany under the name of “Nicolas Tournament” in the German city of Poustdam, where Somayeh Adel was the master and won the championship above all her rivals.
Ms. Adel is a former member of the Afghan women’s national taekwondo team, who fled the country after the defeat of the republican government and the rise of the caretaker government and sought refuge in Germany.
It is worth mentioning that Somayeh Adel was also had gotten the second position in the German- Berlin Taekwondo Championship on November 11, 2011.
In the past two years, women’s sports have been severely restricted and women are not allowed to go to the gym and engage in sports. Under these circumstances, all women’s sports teams in Afghanistan have fallen apart. A large number of women athletes have sought refuge abroad, and some of those who are inside the country have been housebound and prevented from continuing to play sports.
