The killing of Ismail Haniyah, the political leader of the Palestinian group Hamas inside the territory of Iran, during the inauguration ceremony of the new president of this country, which was at the highest possible level according to the security measures, indicates a serious weakness in the security and intelligence apparatus of Iran and it is a big scandal for the government of this country.
The power and skill of Iran’s security institutions, until now on the surface, were thought to be high and it was believed to be one of the strongest and most powerful security and intelligence institutions in the region, but the inability of these institutions to discover and neutralize the assassination plan of Ismail Haniyah, the existing mentality has completely changed the attitude of these institutions and brought the usual term “paper tiger” closer to the truth for Iran.
Although Iran’s inability in the military field was proved by the large but unsuccessful attack of this country on Israel. The attack that was organized and launched following the Israeli air attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria and the killing of several of that country’s diplomats and military leaders, was organized and launched amid a great wave of media propaganda and mouth-filling slogans, but in the end it could not be effective and the least It left possible damages and casualties. Military experts completely failed this Iranian attack on Israel by measuring the ratio between the costs of carrying out the operation and the resulting losses and considered it a failure for the IRGC and the Iranian army.
The failure of Iran’s intelligence apparatus in securing the security of Ismail Haniyah, who was considered one of the most important figures supported by that country in the region, and considering the current war between Hamas and Israel in Gaza, should have been placed in a very special way in security measures shows the existence of a huge and devastating void in Iran’s security and intelligence system.
On the other hand, this possibility has recently gained strength that the information and intelligence networks of the West and Israel may have penetrated deeply into the institutions related to the IRGC and Iranian intelligence. This, which is also highly possible, reveals yet another serious weakness of these institutions, which may in the not-so-distant future, by launching and implementing several other operations similar to the one that led to the death of Ismail Haniyah, lead to the collapse of the Iranian government provided within the intelligence apparatus of that country.
In the circumstances that Iran was at the time of the inauguration ceremony of the new president of the country, Dr. Pezeshkian, and as a result, due to the fact that many foreign guests had come to Iran to participate in the ceremony, the strictest security measures were taken using all forces, facilities and equipment. It should have been implemented, which was certainly the case, the assassination of one of the most important guests invited to the inauguration ceremony of the president, in the heart of the country and in Tehran, the capital of Iran, can only show the weakness and inability of security.
Considering what happened in the last one or two years in the conflict between Iran, the West and Israel, it can be claimed that it was nothing but humiliation and defeat for Iran.
With all the extravagant and heavy slogans, this country was not able to avenge the killing of Qassem Solaimani, nor was it able to provide such support to Hamas, nor did it do anything to compensate for the attack on its consulate in Damascus and the killing of IRGC commanders. At the same time, the latest Israeli attack on Iran’s territory remained unanswered and passed in silence, even though it caused casualties and damage to the country’s military bases.
Therefore, it seems that Iran has lost the prestige and authority it had built in the region and the world and is collapsing.
