Mawlawi Abdullah Sarhadhi, the governor of de facto government for Bamyan Province, has ordered the officials of the “department of enjoining good and forbidding evil” of the province to guide people in the field of observing Hijab and implementing religious rules in coordination with religious scholars.
In the report published by the press office of de facto government’s governor for Bamyan about the meeting of him with the head and members of the “department of enjoining good and forbidding evil” of the province, he was quoted as saying: “The enemies of the religion and government by creating ethnic, religious and linguistic prejudices in among the Muslims, are trying to fulfill their nefarious goals and objectives, which are not veiling and the application of wrong and inappropriate cultures in the society, in order to pull the Islamic societies in the wrong direction and deviation.
According to the report, Sarhadi has asked the officials and scholars of the department of enjoining good and forbidding evil to fulfill their duty of faith and conscience and inform the people about the decrees and orders of God through pulpits and mosques.
Recently, there has been a wave of arrests of women and girls for not observing the Islamic Hijab from various parts of Kabul city, and reports of the arrest of women and girls in Jaghori and Daikundi have also been published.
