26 families of flood victims in Yakawalang district received emergency food and non-food aid.
The Department of Combating Natural Disasters in Bamyan Province has said in a newsletter that these families, whose houses were destroyed and had lost their family members due to floods in Hazarchashma, Pudinato, Abdane and Yazdanchashma areas of Yakawalang district of Bamyan province, have benefited from this assistance.
This number of families was surveyed and identified by a committee composed of government and relief institutions, and then the emergency aid package included a tent, two bags of fifty kilo flour, a health kit, four blankets, two disposable dishes, two water barrel and a tarpaulin.
Hikmat Hossain Mujahid, the governor of Yakawalang1, in contact with the media, said about the casualties and damages caused by the flood in that district: “18 people have been martyred, all of them are members of two families. More than 26 residential houses were severely destroyed and more than 20 other residential houses were slightly damaged. Nearly 50 cattle have been lost. As many as 12 drinking water wells and the water supply network of the place have been destroyed. Abdanah market school has been severely damaged. About 100 acres of agricultural land has also been flooded. About 40 shops in the local market have been damaged, and all the food, clothes and living things of about 26 families have been destroyed.
The victims of the recent floods in different parts of Bamyan province need emergency assistance, so that they can get rid of the very difficult conditions they are in and return to normal life.
