China has Expressed Interest in Investing in IT Sector in Afghanistan

Zhaoxing, the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Kabul, in his meeting with the Acting Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology of the caretaker government, said that he is trying to encourage Chinese businessmen and investors to invest in Afghanistan’s information technology and telecommunications sector, in order to protect the interests of both countries, to grow and mutual economic assistance should also be done as well.
Bakhtar News Agency has reported that during the meeting, the Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Acting Government pointed to the historical and long-standing relations between Afghanistan and China and said that these relations in the social and economic fields between two countries are based on mutual respect and interests of both continues.
According to the report, due to Afghanistan’s convenient geographical location, if China can extend the optical fiber cable to the border of Wakhan in Badakhshan province, Afghanistan can be changed the regional connection center of Asian countries.
Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Afghanistan has also mentioned that Afghanistan will soon extend the fiber optic cable to the border strip of Afghanistan with China, so that Afghanistan will be connected with China through fiber optic.
In the meeting, the Chinese ambassador also reminded of the good relations between that country and Afghanistan throughout history, and announced his country’s efforts to strengthen and stabilize these relations as much as possible and added that Beijing is interested in training Afghan cadres and is trying to provide more facilities in this regard to provide the ground for the citizens of Afghanistan.
The report, quoting the Chinese ambassador, adds that the country is considering expanding the optical fiber cable through the Wakhan border and will discuss this matter with the country’s experts.
Afghanistan is considered as a very suitable market for Chinese goods and currently the most important part of the goods needed in Afghanistan is supplied through this country. Also, the Aynak Logar copper project and several other important development projects in Afghanistan have been entrusted to Chinese companies.
