The administration of Bamyan province has announced in a newsletter that the coordination meeting of the committee for collecting beggars and preventing begging in Bamyan province is held.
In this newsletter, it is stated that Mawlawi Abdullah Sarhadi, the governor of Bamyan, who presided over this meeting, besides expressing his gratitude to the officials of the anti-narcotics department of this province for identifying and collecting addicted beggars, treating them and returning them to their families, emphasized that the officials of the relevant departments have the obligation to collect the beggars from the city.
Mr. Sarhadi said: “The members of this committee are required to identify all beggars, both male and female, accurately and impartially, without considering ethnic prejudices and in a completely transparent and fair environment, and in order to register and create shelters and provide facilities, introduce them to the relevant departments so that shelter and monthly income will be provided for them through the relevant government departments.
In this meeting, the governor of Bamyan has ordered the relevant government departments to coordinate with partner organization in Bamyan regarding the identification, gathering and construction of shelters for them and to report to him on the progress of the work process.
The process of collecting beggars and preventing begging started some time ago by the caretaker government and continues throughout the country.
