Amnesty International called for an immediate end to the detention of women

After the publication of reports regarding to arrest of women and girls on the charge of “not wearing hijab” in various parts of Afghanistan, Amnesty International reacted and called this process “the most violation of women’s freedoms in Afghanistan”.
While reminding that a large number of women have been arrested due to the lack of full body and face covering, this organization has demanded an immediate stop to the process of arresting and suppressing women due to the type of covering and has also demanded the release of the arrested persons.
Published reports based on the arrest of young women from various areas, especially in Kabul, have brought widespread reactions and stances at the national and international levels.
Roza Atenbayeva, the special representative of the United Nations Secretary-General and the head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), previously referred to the arrest of women and girls on the charge of not wearing a hijab, calling it a cause of infamy that can put women at greater risk.
Hidebar, the deputy of Human Rights Watch, also wrote that these repressions isolate women due to the fear of arrests, and create a suitable environment for intensifying repressions in the home environment.
However, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the caretaker government, dismissed the reports about the detention of girls and women, calling it propaganda.
