Afghanistan’s U17 Football Team Qualified for Asian Cup 2025

Afghanistan’s U17 football national team, which is participating in the preliminary games of 2025 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia, won the right to participate in the final stage of this competition by defeating Bangladesh.

Today, Afghanistan faced Bangladesh in last match of this tournament and with the goals of Yaser Safi, Milad Nouri and Arash Ahmadi, they defeated this team with the result of 3-2 and advanced to the Asian Cup.

Afghanistan, which was grouped with Bangladesh, Cambodia, Macau and Philippines in Group “B” of this competition, defeated all competitors and won 12 full points.

In their first game, Khorasan Lions defeated Philippines with a score of 8 against 0, in the second game they scored 9 against Macau, in the third game they beat the host Cambodia with a score of 3-1, and in the last game of the group they defeated Bangladesh.

Afghanistan’s U17 football team left a rare brilliance in this tournament. This team scored 23 goals in four games and conceded only 3 goals, which shows its very strong and promising performance in the tournament.

The Asian U17 Football Cup is scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia from April 3rd to 20th, 2025, and the top 16 Asian teams will compete against each other.

If Afghanistan can advance from the group stage of this cup to the knockout stage, it will qualify for the U17 World Cup that will be held in Qatar next year.

In the past, Afghanistan participated twice in 2018 and 2023 Asian U17 Cup competitions, and failed to advance to the knockout stage both times.
