Dr. Abdul Latif Nazari, deputy professional of the Ministry of Economy of caretaker government, in response to the renaming of Faiz Mohammad Kateb road, said that Allamah Faiz Mohammad Kateb Hazare is one of the famous historians of the country and a prominent national figure. He has emphasized that it is appropriate that the places and streets named after him should be preserved, even developed, and that this graceful national character should be honored like other national prides every year.
He further added: “Figures like Kateb are a symbol of national unity and a reminder of the history of contemporary political developments in the country.”
It should be noted that an official document was published recently which shows that based on the decision of a government administrative commission, which was formed based on the suggestion of Ministry of Information and Culture and the order of the head of the caretaker government, the road from Dar al-Aman to the Pol-e Sokhta in the west of Kabul city, due to its 500-year history by the name of the road is Chaharqala Chahardehi and the lack of recognition of the road named Faiz Mohammad Kateb in government documents, has been named as Chaharqala Chahardehi road.
In this decision, signed by the Prime Minister, the Administrative Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Information and Culture, the Minister of Higher Education, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, the General Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, the General Director of the Affairs Department, the General Director of Supervision and Prosecution of Decrees, and a representative of the Academy of Sciences It also has the responsibility, the Ministry of Information and Culture has been entrusted with the task to carry out actions according to the opinion of the commission after confirming the opinion of the commission.
It should be mentioned that the road from Pul-e Sokhta to Dar al-Aman in west of Kabul was named after Faiz Mohammad Katb Hazara by the Council of Ministers of the past government on 14 December 2012.
