Human right is a concept that is recognized and respected by the whole world as a whole. Based on the principles of human rights, all human beings have a series of natural rights such as the right to life, the right to housing, food, etc. No group or individual is allowed to take away human rights from any human being and punish people without reason and outside of legal and legal rules and principles and ignore their rights.
In today’s world, however, the situation is not as favorable as it should be; this is because human rights have become a tool at the disposal of the powerful political players, from which, in different circumstances and situations, they present definitions that are in line with their own interests and seek their desired benefits from it.
From politicians and bullies points of view in the field of politics and power, all human beings are not worthy of human rights just because they are human. Those countries and players who are members of the circle of solidarity with the top powers in the world are supported by them and deserve to benefit from human rights against their political rivals, but those who are outside the group of allies of the hegemonic powers. In difficult situations and military and civilian confrontations, they are excluded from the circle of human rights and all human rights are denied to them.
A very clear example of this apparent duality in facing human rights is the situation in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Palestine.
There is no doubt that Hamas, as a Palestinian military group, initiated military attacks and escalated violence by killing Israeli civilians and taking hundreds of them hostage. But the retaliatory attacks of Israel and its army in the Gaza Strip, which are carried out under the title of legitimate defense, cannot be justified and defended in any way.
Both sides have obviously deliberately targeted civilians and committed massacres and hostage taking without observing the laws of war and international humanitarian law. But what the Israeli army does, in terms of its size and scope, can never be compared to the crimes of Hamas.
However, the world’s reaction and stance against this crisis is surprising. Because Israel is one of their strategic allies, NATO and the West support Israel alone to keep the killing machine of that country’s army active by targeting civilians and destroying all infrastructures in the Gaza Strip. , to reach the goals they have defined.
The killing of about 1,200 Israelis in a surprise attack by Hamas led to a wave of widespread global reactions due to the violation of human rights and the killing and hostage-taking of Israelis, and the whole West criticized Hamas, but on the other hand, the killing of more than 18,000 people, injured tens of thousands of people, displaced hundreds of thousands of people and destroyed all the buildings, cut off all humanitarian aid and especially medical packages, bombarded hospitals and killed patients in Palestine, from the point of view of America and the West, it has nothing to do with human rights and modern values. They have no humanity and are not worth taking a stand and taking serious action against Israel.
In the current situation, it has been proven that human rights and its supporting institutions, and international organizations, especially the United Nations, which were formed with the aim of preventing war and protecting international peace and security, have become worthless concepts and institutions that have no effect on superpowers in the world and they have completely lost their effectiveness.
As long as issues like human rights do not regain their original position and their instrumental use continues, the world will never see peace.
