Afghanistan National Futsal Team Starts Strong with a Decisive Victory over Tajikistan

Afghanistan national futsal team made a powerful start in the Islamic Solidarity Games, defeating Tajikistan’s national futsal team with an impressive 9–5 victory to claim their first three points.

The goals for Afghanistan came from a hat-trick by the young and promising star Sayed Murtaza Hossaini, two goals each by Abbas Haidari and Akbar Kazemi, and single goals by Mahdi Nawroozi and Sayed Mojtaba Hossaini.

One of the most notable aspects of this match was the outstanding performance of the young players Abbas Haidari and Sayed Murtaza Hossaini, whose brilliance signals the rise of a new generation of talented futsal players in Afghanistan—promising strong potential for the country’s future in the sport.

However, it seems that while the Lions of Khorasan performed exceptionally well and professionally in their offensive plays, they still need to focus more on defense. Some defensive mistakes by coach Majid Mortazai’s players allowed Tajikistan to score relatively easily.

The futsal competitions of the Islamic Solidarity Games began today in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Afghanistan’s national futsal team has been placed in Group B alongside the strong teams of Iran, Morocco, and Tajikistan—facing a challenging path ahead.

The Lions of Khorasan will play their next matches against Iran and Morocco on November 6 and November 8, respectively.
