Shaikh Madar Ali Karimi Bamiani, the Deputy Minister for Urban Affairs at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, stated in an official meeting that the time and conditions for investment in the country are now favorable, and industrial parks must be expanded and developed.
The state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported that Mr. Karimi Bamiani made this statement during a meeting with the Head of Industrial Parks Development at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. The discussion focused on addressing and resolving issues related to the detailed plans for industrial parks.
According to the report, the Head of Industrial Parks Development pointed out that several industrial parks in the provinces lack detailed plans. He emphasized the urgent need for the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing to design and arrange specific plans to facilitate the development of these parks.
The Deputy Minister of Urban Development and Housing reiterated that his ministry plays a policymaking role in urban development. He emphasized that detailed plans must align with urban master plans. He further stated that the leadership of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing would make decisions regarding the challenges associated with designing and preparing detailed plans for industrial parks.
Afghanistan is among the underdeveloped countries, and the industrial sector faces numerous challenges. The lack of necessary infrastructure in this field makes it difficult for industrialists to invest in production activities with ease.
