Head of Bamyan Shia Ulema Council: “Participation of Bamyan People in the Government is their Inalienable Right”

Sayed Nasrullah Waezi, head of Shia Ulema Council of Bamyan Province, who spoke on behalf of the people of Bamyan at the gathering of “Unity, Brotherhood and Harmony” of the people of Bamyan Province, while presenting the demands of Bamyan people, said that participation of Bamyan people in government structure is an absolute right. He added that they down want the rise of corrupt people, but educated and competent people should be employed in government offices.

Mr. waezi made these words in presence of a Presidential Presidium led by Mawlwi Abdul Kabir, Political Deputy of the Presidency, who, according to Mr. waezi, traveled to this province at the request of the people of Bamyan.

The Shia Ulema Council of Bamyan province called the people of Bamyan as educated and emphasized that these people are against the war and want security.

In his speech, he mentions a major part of the key and fundamental demands and content of the people of Bamyan, which is the resumption and completion of the Bamyan electricity project, which they have completed many works, as well as the completion and operation of the infrastructure project of the Bamyan – Dare Suf road, as well as the vital road Gardan-e Diwal is one of the most important issues raised in it. According to Mr. Waezi, these projects are economically very important for the people of Bamyan and they can play a major role in reducing the economic blockade of this province.

According to the head of Shia Ulema Council of Bamyan, the people of this province are suffering economically problems due to the lack of work and the increase in poverty, and for this reason, employment must be provided so that young people can be saved from migrating and drowning in the seas.

In another part of his speech, Mr. Waezi mentioned women and girls as a part of society and demanded to open the gates of schools to girls.

He also announced his support for the requests of the Afghan Shia Ulema Council, which had already been submitted in writing to the caretaker government, and asked the government to comply with these requests, which include the recognition of the Jafari religion and the participation of the followers of this religion in the government.

The division of Wares district into two outstanding districts due to its geographical size, was the other demand which was emphasized in the meeting. This means that we can provide better services. Also, the provision of marketing for Bamyan agricultural products, especially potatoes, by the Ministry of Agriculture was another issue that was discussed with the Deputy Prime Minister. This is important in improving the economic situation of the people.

One of the most important issues discussed in Mr. Waezi’s speech was preventing ethnicism. He emphasized that ethnic differences and class conflicts lead people to the abyss.

Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Prime Minister, also emphasized that ethnic, religious, and language prejudices have no place in the caretaker government and that all ethnic groups and nationalities live together brotherly, and said that they are confident about solving the problems, suggestions and needs of the people. He is trying to share the problems of the people of Bamyan with the officials in order to solve them.

The “Unity, Brotherhood and Harmony” meeting of the people of Bamyan was held today with the presence of the high-ranking delegation of the central government, local government officials and a large number of elders and elites of Bamyan.
