Alireza Asahi, a worthy Afghan bodybuilding athlete, stood in the top of World Bodybuilding Championships and won the gold medal of these competitions.
This honor has been achieved in the 15th round of the World Bodybuilding and Fitness Competition, which is being held in the Maldives with the participation of athletes from more than 40 countries.
Alireza Asahi went on the stage against his competitors in the category of veterans in +80 kg, and at the end he was placed higher than others. Also, Hamidullah Khoshdel placed 4th in the 170 cm height physical fitness category and won no medal.
This is Asahi’s second world gold in two consecutive years. Last year, he deservedly won the championship and gold medal of this tournament.
According to Sports Bodybuilding Federation, 9 athletes, two coaches and the team manager will be participating in the competitions on behalf of Afghanistan. Alireza Asahi, Ezzatullah Barekzai, Naib Mobarez, Hamidullah Omari and Mohammad Ayob Azami are the athletes compete from 75 to 100 kilograms, and along with it, Nasibullah Azimi and Mahdi Aslami are in the Sports Physique section and Abdul Halim Ahmadi is in the Athletic Physique section.
It is said that the Afghan athletes have participated at their own expense in this competitions and the organization of physical education and sports and the National Olympic Committee only facilitated their travel.
Alireza Asahi is also among the athletes who are not in a good financial and economic situation and are facing many problems. Nevertheless, winning such an honor at the global level is a sign of his determination, braveness and hard work, which is rare in its kind.
