More than Eight Acres of Land in Bamyan Were Cleared of Drug Cultivation

An area of ​​more than four acres of land in Saighan district of Bamyan province, which was under drug cultivation, was destroyed and cleared by the security forces.

The press office of the Bamyan Police Headquarter has published a newsletter saying that the anti-narcotics forces of this department, on Saturday June 29, 2024, were present in the area and attempted to destroy these lands.

Also, in a separate incident, on June 23, about 27 square meters of land in the vicinity of the center of Bamyan province was also destroyed by anti-narcotics forces.

Meanwhile, in another report, one person from Saighan district and another from the center of Bamyan province have been arrested in connection with buying and selling drugs.

According to the press office of Bamyan police headquarters, some drugs, cash, three mobile phones and a motorcycle were also recovered from these people.

The suspects are in police custody and their case has been transferred to the court for legal proceedings.

Cultivation, smuggling, buying and selling of drugs are considered illegal in Afghanistan. However, recently, the number of land destruction that has been under drug cultivation in Bamyan has increased.
