Flooding in parts of Bamyan province caused heavy financial losses.
Spokesman of Bamyan governor has sent a newsletter to the media and wrote that last Friday evening, the villages of Qatas Soom in Saighan district and Golistan in center of Bamyan, witnessed a heavy flood, as a result of which about 60 cattle were lost, 205 acres of agricultural land and 6 km of agricultural water canals have been completely destroyed, 12 residential houses have been partially destroyed, and about 26 km of the transportation road from Qatar Soom district to Sokhta Chenar in Saighan district has been destroyed, and the movement of high-speed vehicles is also impossible on this route.
The news report adds that the local authorities attended the area and rescued the mediators stuck in the flood.
Based on the newsletter, Mawlavi Abdullah Sarhadi, the governor of Bamyan, has ordered the officials of relevant organization, including the Department of Combating Natural Events, the Department of Red Crescent and the Department of Public Works of Bamyan, to take immediate action and, in addition to distributing emergency food and clothing aid to the flood victims, in Regarding the cleaning and restoration of the destroyed areas of the communication routes and agricultural canals, take the necessary measures.
