Based on the statistics published by Bamyan police, from the 3rd to 9th of February 2024, seven people suspected of buying and selling drugs have been arrested in separate events from center of Bamyan province.
According to the press releases of the Bamyan Police Headquarter, on December 14, a person was arrested on the suspicion of buying and selling narcotics from center of Bamyan province. A quantity of “heroin, hashish and glass” was obtained from this person.
In another newsletter published on December 16, this department also announced the arrest of another person on the charge of selling and buying drugs. Some marijuana was also obtained from this person.
On 18th of December, another one of the suspects of selling and buying narcotics in Bamyan along with some hashish and a belt rifle was seized by the anti-narcotics department personnel of the Bamyan police.
Based on another news report, four other suspects were arrested in connection with the purchase and sale of drugs on the 19th of December from center of Bamyan. Some marijuana was also obtained from these people.
The newsletter adds that all the suspects are under the supervision of relevant institutions and their cases are being reviewed and completed.
The recorded events, on one hand, show the determination and seriousness of the police in fighting against narcotics, which is a good thing and creates optimism, but on the other hand, it narrates the increase in circulation and use of narcotics in the province, which causes concern in the society.
Meanwhile, Bamyan police have collected 5 addicts in the last few days and transferred them to Bamyan addict’s treatment hospital for treatment.
